Curragh Course Guide and Statistics
The course at Curragh
The Curragh is a wide, galloping, right-handed course with a long, undulating straight and a straight course for races up to a mile. It is the headquarters of Irish Flat racing and stages all five Irish Classics. The grandstand was redeveloped and reopened in 2019.
Betting at Curragh
On the straight course, the field can split, and the draw can matter depending on the ground. The long, galloping straight rewards stamina and a strong finish. Two-year-old races here often feature the best young horses in Ireland, especially from the leading Ballydoyle and Kildangan stables.
